Wheat-Okra Porridge (Homemade baby food) / Lady’s Finger Porridge

Wheat-okra porridge is a very nutritious baby food which can be given from 8 months of age. This can be given as lunch. Its a whole meal by itself and has the goodness of veggies added to it.

  1. In a sauce pan add the ghee, ginger-garlic paste, okra, tomatoes, split red lentil and saute for about a minute on a low flame. Then add water and allow it to boil. Close the lid and simmer this for about 10 minutes until all veggies and dal are cooked.
  2. Then add the wheat flour, mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes by continous stirrung on a medium falme. Once the wheat flour gets thickened switch off the flame and allow it to cool.
  3. When its luke warm grind this in a blender to form a smooth paste. Adjust the consistency with water or curd as you like.
