Mutton puff in air fryer/ Quickest lukhmi with puff pastry in air fryer

Mutton puffs are a tasty snacks which are minced meat filling wrapped in pastry sheets. Making mutton puff at home is very easy if you have readymade puff pastry. Trust me, they turn very delicious than the one we buy from market. Ready-made puff pastry is easily available in frozen section of any super market. Just get it and you are ready to make home made delicious mutton puffs.

Lukhmi is similar to mutton puffs but is generally deep-fried, in this recipe you can make lukhmi in air fryer without deep frying and by using puff pastry.

Making mutton puff or lukhmi involves two steps: Making the stuffing and fill it in puff pastry sheet and bake in air-fryer.

I have used whole wheat puff pastry, all-purpose flour puff pastry can also be used for this recipe. Egg puffs can also be made using these pastry sheets.

  1. Wash the minced meat and drain excess water by putting in a colander or sieve.

  2. Now in a pressure cooker or saucepan or vessel add the minced meat, ginger garlic paste, salt and red chilli powder. Mix well and close the lid. Cook on high flame for 2 minutes then lower the flame and cook covered for another 20 minutes on low flame.

  3. Now open the lid and add oil and stir fry the cooked minced meat for 2 minutes. Then add chat masala, garam masala, onion, coriander, green chilli and lemon juice. Mix well and stir fry on high flame for 30 seconds. That's it. The filling is ready.

  1. Thaw the frozen puff pastry by placing the sheets separately. This may take 5 minutes. Now put the stuffing on the puff pastry sheet.

  3. Brush the puffs with milk or give them egg wash and sprinkle black seeds on them.

  4. Preheat the airfryer and cook the puffs at 160 degees for 15 minutes.

Recipe Notes
  1. If you do not have kalonji seeds then you can use til or sesame seeds.
  2. Any puff pastry either homemade or store-bought whole wheat or all-purpose flour puff pastry can be used for making mutton puffs.
