  1. First of all, dry roast the puffed rice for about 4-5 minutes on medium flame, untill crunchy and keep aside.

  2. Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the peanuts on medium flame untill cruncy and golden brown. This may take around 4-5 minutes. Now add the roasted chickpeas in the same pan ans stir fry for 2 minutes. Remove these roasted chickpeas and peanutes in a plate. Keep aside.

  3. Now for tempering. Heat the same oil in which peanuts where fried, to this curry laeves, dried redchillies and stir fry for 1 minute untill they turn crunchy. Now add the turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt. Mix and saute for 30 seconds.

  4. To this add the previously roasted, puffed rice, peanuts and chickpeas. Mix well.

  5. Cook for 1 minute on high flame. Spicy and crunchy murmure chiwda is ready to be served. Enjoy!!

Recipe Notes
  1. Do not fry the peanuts and chickpeas on a high flame. As overheated oil burns the peanuts and they do not turn crunchy on inside out.
  2. Dry roasting the murmure beforehand makes the chivda more crunchy when compared to directly adding them at the end.
