Gajar ka halwa is a famous carrot dessert, usually made during the winter season in Indian households. It is a light nutritious dessert with all the goodness of carrots, milk, khoya, and nuts. It goes with many names like gajorer haluagajrelagajar pak, carrot halwa and is relished by people all over the world. Due to its medium shelf-life, it is now a days being exported to other countries from India.

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon ghee on medium heat in a pan and fry all the sliced almonds. cashews, pistachios, and raisins for 2 minutes until light golden in color.

  3. Heat 2.5 tablespoons of ghee in a pan. Saute the grated carrots for 3 minutes on medium flame.

  4. Add the sugar and cook for 1 minute or until sugar liquifies.

Recipe Notes
  1. I have used normal carrots which are always available, you can use special reddish sweet carrots which are available in the winter season.
  2. Sweetened condensed milk can be used in place of khoya.
