Binis ki phalli gosht / Mutton French beans curry – Hyderabadi

Binis ki phalli gosht is a Hyderabadi dish made from french beans and mutton(preferably lamb ribs). It’s a day to day curry in Muslim households.

  1. In a pressure cooker add onions, mutton, ginger garlic paste, turmeric, red chilli powder, salt and oil. Mix well.
  2. Now switch on the flame and saute for 3 minutes on high flame. Add water and close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook on high flame until 2 whistles are heard. Now lower the flame and cook again until 2 whistles are heard on low flame. Switch off the flame.
    Now switch on the flame and saute for 3 minutes on high flame. Add water and close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook on high flame until 2 whistles are heard. Now lower the flame and cook again until 2 whistles are heard on low flame. Switch off the flame.
  3. Open the pressure cooker carefully after the steam cools down. Now add the diced french beans, potatoes and Kasuri methi, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute. Then cover the lid and cook on high flame until 1 whistle is heard. Switch off the flame.

Recipe Notes
  1. Lamb's ribs are used to make this curry, but if you do not have lamp ribs then use bone-in mutton or boneless will also do.
